Children's commisioner

Children’s Commissioner John Angus would like to offer his support for ‘The Golden Month’ documentary.

“In my role working for the best interests New Zealand children I’m a strong believer in any resource that helps parents do a better job.

“The first few days and months of a child’s life are so precious and make such a difference to what kind of person they grow to become. That’s why it’s vital that parents are given the best advice, support and care in the early stages of their child’s life.

“I know how daunting it is when you become a parent. You need really good people to guide you through the highs and lows. It’s a sad fact that many New Zealand mothers don’t have those support networks or fully appreciate how difficult it is to be a mum.

“The ‘Golden Month’ sounds like a very interesting project and I’ll be keen to see the finished product. It has potential to be a great resource for new parents across New Zealand.”
